Alinea Design Objects

More than 35 years after creating his renowned coffee table design for B&B Italia, Leo Aerts, the interior architect and visionary behind Alinea Design Objects, continues to craft functional objects distinguished by clean lines and a refined aesthetic. In 1987, his Meta coffee table achieved great success with B&B Italia, inspiring Leo to devote more attention to furniture design.

Designing has become an integral part of his lifestyle. Leo is committed to creating minimalist, functional, and timeless pieces that can be cherished for generations. Both he and his designs resist easy categorization, but the common thread running through his work is his use of sustainable, characterful materials. For Leo, quality must always take precedence over quantity. Long before concepts like sustainability, cradle-to-cradle, recycling, and the circular economy became mainstream, these principles were already embedded in his design philosophy.

His work has been recognized with numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious German Red Dot Design Award, the German Design Award, the Good Design Award in Chicago, and the AZ Award in Toronto.
